ScoutComms Spring 2017 Internship – Advocate for Veterans & Military Families

ScoutComms, the nation’s leading communications, advocacy, and philanthropic strategy firm providing services that support veterans and military families, seeks motivated, hard-working student interns for the spring semester. Interns will provide support to Fortune 500 companies, veteran-owned businesses and veteran-focused non-profits.

ScoutComms interns provide support to staff by conducting media and issue research, media and stakeholder outreach, project and event support, report creation, and other company tasks. 13909127_1153079498048110_2087834447513929252_o

Ideal candidates have outstanding written and oral communications skills, an interest in veteran and military family causes, and strong academic, technology and research skills. Student veterans, military family members and those with a communications or journalism background are encouraged to apply. Experience in public relations, digital media, design or marketing is a plus.

For these tasks, interns are paid a monthly stipend and receive a grant from the ScoutComms Intern Education Fund towards unfunded educational expenses.

ScoutComms is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and a Certified B Corp that works to create greater awareness of veterans’ needs and expand their access to resources promoting their economic, physical, and mental well-being.

Timeframe: Spring internships generally start in early-to-mid January and run through late May.

Internship location: Fredericksburg, VA, with limited local travel to support client projects
